Obedience 1
New Classes Starting:
Tuesday, January 7th at 7pm
Changing unwanted behavior in dogs involves 3 core principles 1) Impulse control, 2) Relationship, and 3) Communication.
These same principles are found in the training of well-behaved dogs you see all the time like service dogs, therapy dogs, and even police dogs.
They are even the basis for many American Kennel Club (AKC) certifications and titles.
This class teaches you and your dog the behavior-changing commands that make up Impulse Control, Relationship, and Communication. The commands include SIT, DOWN, STAY, FOCUS, COME, PLACE, OFF, LEAVE IT, and WAIT. This class will show you how these commands can solve your dog's current behavior problems as well as prevent future ones.
Owners must be willing to use the training collar recommended by the trainer to participate in certain activities. The recommendation can include a martingale style or a Herm Sprenger prong depending on the dog and safety concerns in group setting. A trainer will speak with you and evaluate your dog before making any recommendation.
Dogs are NOT permitted to greet one another during this class. This is not a socialization class.
This class is NOT for aggressive or reactive dogs.
If your dog is aggressive or reactive (not friendly around strangers or other dogs) please call our office (248) 618-3258 and we will get you in the right class to help you.
If you are not sure if this class is right for you or your dog please call (248) 618-3258 and a trainer will help you sign up for the best fit for you and your dog.

We were in search of a local training facility that would be able to help us with our very smart and very easily distracted pup, Jack. After our initial research into Clever Canine we went in for a free evaluation and decided to try the accelerated obedience program they offer. In addition, we signed up for 5 days of the "Stay and Play" doggie day care.
In his first 3 weeks of training, he's a new pup. He's always been good with his commands but he's gotten much better with distractions and he's learned quite a few new ones as well. And we're almost at what I thought would be an impossible break-through...loose leash walking!
Every day after daycare he came home DOG tired but was noticeably better with his commands.
He gets SO excited to go in the morning and on days he stays home, he whines in the hallway because he wants to go see all his human and fur friends. It's very evident that the staff at Clever Canine shows him love, attention, and reinforces positive behaviors we want at home. This dog dad is insanely thankful for Clever Canine and their amazing staff.
